Gayla DeWitt

It is with great sadness that I have to report my power partner of 42 years fell asleep and is awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Gayla and I met at a ministry function in Topeka in December 1978. We married one year later in December 1979 and had a Garden wedding celebration in July 1980. And yes, she made me recognize both anniversaries and her half birthday in June since she was born so close to Christmas.

Gayla was born in Muskogee, OK December 30, 1943 to Wilburn and Irma (Dettke) Jackson and had two brothers Henry Darrell and Robert Grayson. She is survived by a step-son Chad (Tori) Stripe and four nephews Kelly, Kerry, Ken, and Kevin Jackson. Her extended family include great nieces and nephews and two cats Madison and Mitzee.

Gayla had a great love for God and his people. We coordinated home bible fellowships, ran classes, attended classes and ministered to people as a team. We had good times, we had bad times but there was never a time that we did not love and trust our heavenly father to see us through it all.

I loved this woman with my whole being and I take comfort in the truth that we will meet again at the bema. Her battle with sickness and disease is over and for that I am truly grateful. My heartfelt thanks to all my prayer warriors, friends, and family that stood in the gap during my hour of need. I love you all.
