Steve Eugene Brewster was born on December 1, 1947 to Johnny and Dorothy Brewster in Bell Gardens, California. He had an older brother named Paul Brewster, whom he loved dearly.
Steve passed away peacefully on October 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 29 years, Shelia Brewster, and his two daughter Vanessa Brewster and Tamarra Nelson by his side.
Steve was a Vietnam Veteran, joining the United States Navy at the age of 17, and served his Country for 22 years, retiring with high honors.
After retirement, from the United States Navy, he continued to serve the community as a Police Officer for an additional 20 years and eventually he held the prestigious position of the Chief of Police in Holton, Kansas.
He had a love for cooking and was fantastic at it. He was also an avid fisherman.
When people asked him about his careers he would say whole heartedly, ‘He is in it for the people’. He was known for his quick wit and love for his wife and children.
Steve has six children that he cherishes and taught all of them the importance of family and family values.
He is survived in death by his wife Shelia J. Brewster, sons Shannon Brewster, Michael Brewster and Dennis Brewster as well as three daughters, Vanessa Brewster, Tamara Nelson and Hollie Blue. He also had six grandchildren. Hunter Nelson, Hunter Brewster, Gauge Nelson, Mattie Holliday, Hayden Brewster, and Gracie Nelson.
