John Wesley Melton

John Wesley Melton, 48, of Alma, KS, passed away on December 31, 2019, at his home. He was born on August 20, 1971, to James Robert and Sharon (Weiler) Melton in Galesburg, IL.

John attended primary schools in Iowa, Illinois, and Kansas. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1989, and was an active member of the ROTC. John joined the army in 1991, completing his basic training from Fort Knox, Kn. He served in Operation Desert Storm as a helicopter repairer, and also served in Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti. John was honorably discharged in 1999.

John was preceded in death by his father, James R Melton, and his sister, Beth Ann Melton. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Melton of Paxico, KS, his brother, Star Terry Melton of Topeka, KS, and his sister Rebecca (Stephen) Russell of Topeka, KS.

John was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date.
