John Joseph Sutton, 62 of rural Morganville passed away on November 7th at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan after a short illness.
John was born October 29, 1957 to John Nathan and Margaret Mary (Paoni) Sutton in Springfield, Illinois. Upon his mother’s death in 1967 he moved to Kansas with his sisters and brother. John graduated from Westmoreland Rural High School in 1975. He attended Manhattan Area Vocational School in welding. He worked for Boeing in Clay Center for a short time. Later he worked for Fleming Company in Kansas City for 12 years and was employed by UPS the past 14 years.
John married Susan Webb on Nov 16, 1991. They later divorced. He is survived by 3 sons, Randy (Amy) Sutton, Rocky (Brooke) Sutton, Jessie (Jessica) Webb and 1 daughter Haylee (Carlo) Gonzales; 9 grandchildren, Ashley (Royce), Austin, Courtney, Jennaka, Jessica, Konnor, Lynzee, Montgomery, and Savannah; 2 great grandchildren, Kayla and Aleiah; 1 sister Natha Lee (Floyd) Manges and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret, 2 sisters, Mary Wilson and Frances Sutton, 1 brother Stanley Sutton and 1 grandchild Khya.
John was known for his love of hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was happiest with his family and loved taking his grandchildren fishing. He loved the outdoors. He never met a stranger and anyone he touched won’t soon forget him. He was the kindest most giving person you would ever meet.
His request was to be cremated and plan a celebration of life in the spring time.
