Roy Keith Baker, 61, known as “RK by friends and Keith by family”, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Smoky Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Salina, Kansas.
Roy was born on November 9, 1957 in Salina, Kansas. The son of Roy and Drusilla Baker. He was a life long resident of Salina.
Roy attended High School at Salina Central, graduating in 1976. He attended two years at Wichita State where he studied music theory.
Roy served three years in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Roy held various jobs in the Salina area but he worked the most in the building maintenance or handyman profession.
Roy was a Master Mason and member of Solomon City Lodge #105, Solomon, Kansas. He was a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and belonged to the Shriners.
Roy enjoyed spending time loving his cat Larceny, reading books, playing the blues and jazz music on the piano, playing darts, and shooting skeet with his son and friends.
He is survived by his father, Roy I Baker, Jr., his son Allan D. Baker, step-son Jared L. Fowler, grandchildren, David, Valerie and Izzadorah Baker, a great-grandson, Haemish Baker, a great-granddaughter on the way. He was predeceased by his mother, Drusilla, his brother Dallas and sister Deborah.
Roy was proud of his Irish and Scottish hertiage.
To honor Roy’s request a cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.
