Patricia “Pat” Siano, 88, of Topeka passed away peacefully at Rolling Hills Health & Rehab on Tuesday, Nov 20, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Anna Marie Munns (Graham), Jackie Menschner-Rush (Lonnie), Ed Menschner, all of Topeka, six grand-children, eight great grand-children and sister Mary Mitchell of Michigan.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her children Denise Richman and Phillip Menschner, her parents Glen and Mae Smith, sister Lois Allen and brothers Bill and Earl Smith.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on Sept 14, 1930. After high school she moved to New Jersey where she met her first husband Albert Menschner. They later married and had three children before moving to South Florida. They had another child and later divorced. She met Richard, later married in 1964 and had a child together. Richard went on to adopt her 4 children and raised them as his own and loved them very much. They moved from Florida to Kansas in 2007 to be closer to their daughter in their elder years.
Pat loved family above all else. Nothing would make her happier than cooking a big meal and having her family gathered around the dining room table eating and laughing. Many times in earlier days these meals would end with a friendly game of poker. She loved to gamble, playing bingo was her favorite social outing. Back in Florida she would take trips to Las Vegas with her bestie and enter slot tournaments. It was in her blood. She also had a “thing” for Wayne Newton. “He can put his shoes under my bed anytime” she would say.
She will be deeply missed. She was a shining light to anyone who was blessed to meet her. We want to thank the staff at Mccrite Plaza & Rolling Hills Health & Rehab for taking such good care of her. She loved you all.
Pat was cremated and a private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
